Key Responsibilities:
  • Secures verbal or written consent from property owners, municipalities, or businesses for tree trimming, removal, or herbicide application. Obtains necessary permits when required. Coordinates with clients to ensure access and informs them of any potential disruptions.
  • Maintains and ensures the accuracy of all documentation and reports related to permissions and notifications for the General Foreperson and crew members.
  • Plans and organizes work for crew members, taking into account factors such as equipment accessibility, time estimates for task completion, cleanup duration, available tools, weather conditions, and specific client instructions.
  • Understands and adheres to all relevant work methods associated with line clearance operations.
  • Evaluates right-of-way conditions to assess vegetation health and determine necessary maintenance actions.
  • Adds value by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding work specifications and requirements.
  • Reviews completed work by crew or contractors to ensure compliance with utility standards.
  • Assists in managing crew or contractors during storm recovery efforts.
  • Provides support for special projects as designated by the utility.
  • May need to navigate rough terrain as part of job responsibilities.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in tree trimming or clearing operations, or successful completion of relevant performance evaluations.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and can effectively manage stressful situations while multitasking.
  • Possesses foundational knowledge of trees, including identification, growth patterns, and proper arboricultural practices for trimming, pruning, and removal, especially near energized lines.
  • Familiar with the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z).
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and proficient in reading circuit maps.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with the public, clients, and colleagues.
  • Successfully completes an approved customer relations course and understands all relevant work methods applicable to the role.
  • Must achieve ISA certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Adheres to on-the-job safety protocols.
  • Capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, sun, cold, and snow.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, and storm recovery) and be available for call-out work.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and can pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Holds a valid medical card for operating company vehicles with a GVWR or GVW of 10,001 lbs. or greater.
  • Must have valid First-Aid and CPR certifications.
