Critical Care Nurse

Cleveland Clinic's Akron General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) team. As a Critical Care RN, you will provide exceptional patient care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver world-class care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, neuro trauma, neuro interventional, neurosurgery, and neurology patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population, recognizing changes in patient condition and responding appropriately.
- Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document patient information.
- Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care, and participate in quality improvement processes.
- Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, and maintain applicable certification/licensure.
- Review and document progress and discharge goals with patients and families, participate in and document patient care, discharge planning, and case management conferences.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Willing to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and TNCC certification and complete CVVHD training within one year of employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
