We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ramen Chef to join our team at Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya in Portland Food Hall. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $18-$21 an hour, along with eligibility for benefits after 12 months of employment.

Job Overview

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya is a locally owned, Japanese-style Ramen restaurant that prides itself on authenticity and quality. With over 15 locations across WA, OR, IL, and TX, we offer a growth path for our team members and prioritize their well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) to work efficiently in the restaurant when scheduled.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events, ensuring store operations meet standards and setting a good example for colleagues.
  • Stay aware of all menu information, promotions, merchandise, and advertisements to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with new team member training by positively recognizing good performance and providing respectful coaching as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and communicate with the General Manager regarding team morale and performance changes.
  • Adhere to Kizuki operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security guidelines, to ensure partner safety during shifts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensure regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform routine food service activities according to established operational policies and procedures, preparing high-quality food items to order for guests.
  • Foster attention to detail in food/service quality and cleanliness.
  • Evaluate and maintain constant supplies of ingredients according to company specifications and local health regulations.
  • Meet or exceed guest expectations through proper food presentation and preparation.
  • Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety.
  • Meet special guest requests while upholding high-quality standards.
Requirements
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to learn quickly.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Able to understand and execute oral and written instructions and request clarification when necessary.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of four straight hours when required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Resilience in dealing with heat, cold, and exposure to cleaning chemicals, smoke, fumes, and airborne particles.
