Job Title: Senior Prosecutor

**Job Summary:**
Coweta County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior prosecutor to join our team. As a key member of our prosecution team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting cases in the County Courts system.

**Responsibilities:**
* Prepares and presents misdemeanor cases in the County Courts system
* Tries criminal offenses brought under State and County statutes and ordinances
* Conducts comprehensive research in preparation for trials
* Develops trial strategies for each case and conducts bench and jury trials
* Drafts and files appropriate pre-trial motions and briefs
* Responds to and argues pre and post-trial motions
* Creates and maintains files on cases to include evidence and detailed documentation

**Requirements:**
* Juris Doctorate required
* Possession of license to practice law in the State of Georgia
* Possession of Security and Integrity Certification within ninety (90) days of hire
* Member of Georgia State Bar in good standing
* Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records
* Valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR)

**Estimated Salary:** $60,000 - $80,000 per year

**Work Environment:**
This role requires occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and standard vision requirements. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location.
