Position Summary

The Senior Architect will possess the capability to oversee and execute various project types throughout the design, documentation, and construction administration phases as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. This role promotes innovative problem-solving to ensure technical and design excellence while adhering to building codes and regulatory standards. The Senior Architect will coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders, manage multiple intricate tasks, prioritize effectively, and guide the work of others. The candidate will act as the primary architectural liaison for clients, other disciplines, estimating teams, and construction personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage projects, executing all design phases, including programming, planning, conceptual development, detailed design, and construction administration.
  • Create complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications for large-scale projects of advanced complexity without oversight.
  • Develop and present studies, presentations, and reports to both internal and external audiences.
  • Research and implement International Building Code and other regulatory requirements as part of the project delivery process.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure coordinated and buildable designs.
  • Engage in drawing reviews, coordination meetings, and quality assurance checks.
  • Provide support for construction activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and preparing construction progress reports.
  • Assist project managers in resource planning, budget and scope definition, schedule adherence, and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on documents for complex projects, ensuring technical verification of design calculations and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve intricate code, construction, or design-related challenges.
  • Mentor architectural staff.
  • Serve as the Architect of Record for assigned projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, and/or D.Arch) or Canadian/International equivalent.
  • Active architectural license in good standing within the home state, along with NCARB certification.
  • Relevant experience in an AEC (Architectural, Engineering, or Construction) firm.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Extensive knowledge of International Building Codes, OSHA Regulations, and ADA Standards.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial and client-focused leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel moderately for project-related or training activities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven history of successful cross-discipline project coordination and execution across various project types.
  • LEED Accreditation, WELL Certification, or similar sustainability credentials.
  • Experience in one or more of CRB's core markets, including R&D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, food & nutrition, and/or consumer products on international projects.
