Job Summary

The Augusta University is seeking a highly qualified Instructor - Limited Term in Family Medicine to join our team. As a member of the Family Medicine Residency faculty, this individual will be responsible for completing the Rural Fellowship curriculum at a satisfactory level. The successful candidate will also act as faculty attending for residents in the Family Medicine Clinic and provide scheduled didactic education to Family Medicine residents on rural medicine topics.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the designed curriculum of the Rural Medicine Fellowship
  • Provide clinical education to family medicine residents in an ambulatory setting on a wide variety of family medicine topics but primarily on rural medicine topics
  • Active participant in all mandatory faculty activities
  • Active participant in scholarly activities commissariat with their level of training
  • Role model and mentor for family medicine learners
  • Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with Augusta University policy & procedures
  • Develop understanding of how to perform a medical needs assessment for an area
Requirements
  • MD or DO training
  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Board certified (or board-eligible) by the American Board of Family Medicine, eligible for licensure in Georgia and South Carolina as well as credentialing at Augusta University Health System
  • Completed or accepted to the rural fellowship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a medical educator
  • Some level of faculty development training
  • Certificate of completion of faculty development course
  • Working with a large population base

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
