Position Overview:

The Beverage Server is responsible for delivering a variety of beverage options to guests in a timely and professional manner. This role is eligible for gratuities, enhancing the overall guest experience.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests, embodying the #AddLife culture in all interactions.
  • Create a supportive and motivating atmosphere for fellow Team Members.
  • Address issues within the scope of authority and escalate matters beyond this scope to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Take and accurately relay beverage orders to the bartender, remembering guest preferences and locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in guest areas by promptly clearing empty glasses and bottles, and ensuring ashtrays are clean.
  • Monitor guest beverage consumption to prevent over-intoxication, notifying supervisory staff if necessary.
  • Restock service areas with necessary supplies as required.
  • Check and maintain the setup and cleanliness of service stations throughout the shift.
  • Prepare coffee and soft drinks as part of beverage orders.
  • Garnish drinks appropriately.
  • Keep the position supervisor informed of relevant activities and updates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compliance and Regulatory Duties:

Each Team Member is responsible for adhering to laws and regulations relevant to their role.

  • Attend mandatory training sessions provided by the Company.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are not permitted to engage in gambling, consume alcohol, or purchase tobacco products.
  • Understand the regulations and policies related to the Team Member's department.
  • Be knowledgeable about the Property's initiatives addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any observed misconduct.

Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED is required; prior experience in a high-volume beverage service environment is preferred but not mandatory; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varying light conditions, including flashing lights.


Licenses and Certifications:

Virginia Racing Commission License
Serv-Safe Certification
