Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Varco Home Health and Hospice. As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to the physical therapist in delivering personalized and effective rehabilitation care to patients within their homes.
Responsibilities:- Aid in conducting patient assessments and documenting information to assist in creating individualized treatment plans.
- Support the implementation of therapeutic exercises and techniques under the guidance of the supervising physical therapist.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises, therapeutic activities, and functional training to improve mobility and strength.
- Provide feedback on patient response to treatments and report any concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatments administered, and changes in their conditions.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the physical therapy team, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team discussions and assist in adjusting treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Instruct patients and their families on prescribed exercises, safe mobility techniques, and the use of assistive devices to facilitate ongoing progress.
- Offer support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Valid state PTA license.
- Previous experience in a home health setting or relevant healthcare environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated empathy, sensitivity, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various home environments while prioritizing patient safety.
- Critical thinking abilities to assist in adjusting treatment plans based on patient progress and challenges.
- Adherence to high ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality, and respecting their autonomy.
- Punctuality, dependability, and a commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care.
