Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a dedicated Malware Analyst to contribute to our USCYBERCOM initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a representative for USCYBERCOM, providing essential requirements and integration support for malware investigations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to comprehend malware behavior through dynamic analysis and reverse engineering methodologies.
  • Generate comprehensive malware reports to assist in identifying and mitigating future cyber threats.
  • Support malware analysis activities necessary for delivering Mission Assurance (MA) products aimed at evaluating and reporting on malware within cyberspace operations.
  • Regularly update and report on the progress of assigned Workflow Management System (WMS) malware tasks and engage in technical discussions to influence malware analysis strategies.
  • Facilitate the development and certification of System Security Plans (SSP) for new malware analysis systems.
Qualifications:
  • Possess mid-to-senior level expertise as a Malware Analyst, with a focus on advanced cyberspace technologies.
  • Utilize knowledge related to Malware Analysis governance, policy oversight, and operational practices.
  • Work independently towards established Mission Assurance objectives; assignments are frequently self-initiated.
  • Continuously develop and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends related to computer and network vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth research on software and methodologies to enhance both defensive and offensive capabilities for USCYBERCOM.
  • Perform system analysis, reverse engineering, and implement best practices in malware analytics across various platforms.
  • Demonstrate strong programming skills, including proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly language, with knowledge of Windows internals and UNIX/Linux or mobile platforms.
  • Design malware detection frameworks and conduct vulnerability assessments of information systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in malware analysis or engineering.
  • Possess DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification, CSSP Incident Responder, or CSSP Infrastructure Support.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with source code, hex, binary analysis, and data correlation techniques.
  • Understanding of security concepts, protocols, and tools related to incident handling.
  • Ability to develop and assess solutions for Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO).
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
