Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is dedicated to providing exceptional service by efficiently completing assigned work orders under the direction of the Plant Engineer. This position encompasses a variety of tasks including carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting, plumbing, mechanical systems, electrical systems, office relocations, special event setups, mechanical inspections, and preventative maintenance duties, while also coordinating with subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve minor HVAC and exhaust system problems
  • Address and fix minor plumbing issues, including toilet unclogging
  • Handle minor electrical repairs, such as changing lamps and ballasts
  • Reassemble and modify office furniture, including the installation of accessories
  • Conduct light carpentry and welding/fabrication tasks to meet customer needs
  • Set up rooms for events or organizational requirements
  • Perform light masonry work as necessary for minor projects
  • Carry out drywall repairs, including mudding, taping, and finishing
  • Execute painting tasks for larger areas and touch-ups as required
  • Complete various monthly preventative maintenance assignments, such as Fire/Life Safety Inspections
  • Transport materials and supplies across the facility as requested
  • Oversee subcontractors performing assigned tasks

Responsibilities may be adjusted as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in general carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with mechanical equipment are essential
  • Enjoyment in daily customer interactions is required
  • Effective organizational skills are necessary
  • Prior experience with CMMS or SAP is highly preferred
  • A strong sense of urgency coupled with attention to detail is crucial
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
  • Previous experience in building maintenance is mandatory
  • Capability to perform all listed job functions is required

Minimum Requirements:

Proficiency in general carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems is required.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word, are necessary.

Possession of an EPA license is advantageous.

Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
