Job Overview

This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient assembly and packaging of products. The individual will be tasked with:

  • Applying labels to cartons and arranging products on pallets according to client specifications.
  • Utilizing shrink wrap to secure pallets for safe transport.
  • Conducting initial quality assurance checks to maintain product standards.
  • Documenting piece counts on packing slips and submitting completed paperwork for processing, along with other assigned responsibilities.
  • Providing backup support to the warehouse shipping team as necessary; experience operating a forklift is advantageous.
Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED, with six to twelve months of relevant experience or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, shipping documents, and memos. Must be able to recognize similarities and differences in words and numbers, and communicate effectively in simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Competence: Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Skills: Capability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and handle standardized situations with occasional variations.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

The characteristics of the work environment include:

  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Regular proximity to moving mechanical parts.
