Key Responsibilities:- Supervise a team of up to 30+ individuals in the daily production of quality corrugated products, ensuring a safe and productive environment with minimal waste.
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all employees follow safety policies.
- Foster high morale through fairness, consistency, and addressing employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain quality, efficiency, and production levels as set by management.
- Oversee the day-to-day loading of trucks, including associated paperwork.
- Monitor and manage inventories of converting supplies.
- Keep upper management informed of departmental issues that may affect performance.
- Enforce corrective action procedures as needed and conduct meetings with violating employees.
- Coordinate with maintenance and management on repairs or preventive maintenance activities.
- Develop a cross-training plan to ensure shift performance and success.
- Work with employees to promote and support their professional growth.
- Implement continuous improvement actions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure organizational and attention-to-detail standards are met.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- 2 to 4 years of proven track record of successful production management in a similar role.
- College degree preferred; High School Diploma/GED required.
- Enthusiastic, goal-oriented, safety-minded, and a results-driven leader.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership, crisis management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Superior time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload.
- Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Computer skills: Proficient in E-mail, Excel, Word, and company software.
- Understanding operating cost, knowledge of cost issues to make decisions that reduce overall costs.
- Ability to analyze data for identifying areas of improvement.
- Good mechanical abilities.
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of fractions.
- Ability to read and understand measurements on a tape measure.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
