This role is essential for the safe and effective operation of printing machinery in line with customer-approved specifications and all Quality requirements as well as CPG Safety Policies and Procedures. The Printing Press Support Specialist is tasked with assisting the machine crew and Operator. This position may involve working with various machines including, but not limited to, Rotary Die Cutter, One Cut Die Cutter, Flexo Folder Gluer, Post Folder Gluer, Jumbo, and Automatan. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Efficiently Operate Machinery

1. Assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in the safe functioning of press equipment.

2. Monitor waste levels off the machine and alert the Operator if waste is excessive.

3. Observe the machine for potential maintenance concerns.

4. Collaborate with the Operator and Assistant Operator to achieve key operational objectives.

5. Engage in TPS activities, including Kaizen events, as required.

6. Aid the Operator and Assistant Operator in resolving quality issues.

7. Prepare materials according to customer specifications.

8. Work alongside the Operator and Assistant Operator to efficiently set up the machine.

9. Utilize all TPS tools to enhance uptime and minimize waste.

Perform Quality Checks

  1. Ensure that all manufactured products meet customer expectations by conducting all necessary checks.
Develop Machinery Skills

  1. Collaborate with the Press Operator and Assistant Operator to learn effective machine operation.
Maintain Housekeeping to CPG Standards

  1. Ensure that the machine and its surrounding area are cleaned properly at the end of each shift. Proficiency in reading a tape measure and knowledge of fractions is required.
Essential Job Functions
  • Frequent positioning of oneself (e.g., standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching) to perform work tasks.
  • Extensive use of arms, hands, and fingers in manipulating tools, objects, and controls is necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying climates, including extreme heat/humidity or cold, for an entire shift.
Skills
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
Schedule

Monday-Friday 5am-3pm with possible Saturdays

$16.50 an hour
