Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor/GPS Technician with a background in civil construction to join our team at Express Employment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about heavy highway and civil construction projects, including earthwork, paving, structures, and underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support field production.
  • Create, manage, and maintain project layout data and machine control files.
  • Establish and maintain standardized GPS survey models for project operations.
  • Schedule and coordinate work with field operations teams.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for GPS construction layout.
  • Perform calculations related to alignments, drainage, structures, and roadway modeling.
  • Conduct quality control checks on data and survey calculations.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure the utilization of GPS construction data.
  • Address problems and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Perform job duties while upholding company values.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum six months of experience in GPS and construction field layout, particularly in heavy civil construction.
  • Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and software (Trimble Business Center, GPS base, and Rover).
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with heavy highway and survey practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project demands.
