We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit at WellSpan Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to children and adolescents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse - Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit will provide professional nursing care to patients on the unit, coordinating care planning with other disciplines and synthesizing patient data to develop outcome-driven plans. This role requires a strong understanding of pediatric nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:- Provide and coordinate direct care in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital.
- Safely and independently administer prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions based on assessment and plan of care.
- Appropriately organize and prioritize time based on patient condition and expected workload, identifying changes in patients' status and acting accordingly.
- Seek mentoring and coaching from the CN II & III.
- Identify and communicate individualized patient needs for safe handoffs during transitions of care, collaborating with patient/family in care planning with all disciplines.
- Appropriately and correctly document the patient response to interventions and progress toward outcomes, identifying and documenting variances.
- Identify own areas of professional growth and development in performance improvement efforts, recognizing the value of evidence-based research as it applies to best practice.
- Promote a professional practice environment that supports patient safety and quality through interdisciplinary collaboration, Shared Decision Making activities, and peer review.
- Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel in order to meet patient needs, helping assistive personnel organize and set priorities for work.
- Promote collaboration and cooperation among physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to effective communications among all team members.
- Diploma Program Required or Associates Degree Required or Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
- No experience required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or Registered Nurse Multi-State License Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.
