Commercial Lending Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary function of this role is to support commercial loan officers in all facets of the commercial lending process. This includes preparing reports, memoranda, commercial loan documentation, and any necessary paperwork to finalize loan files for the processing of commercial loan documents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the bank's primary operating system and the documentation systems within the department.
- Requesting personal and business financial data and addressing customer inquiries regarding this information. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential in serving commercial clients.
- Assisting in the management of assigned commercial portfolios.
- Communicating with clients, legal representatives, lenders, underwriters, and credit analysts as required.
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial documents before they are forwarded to Commercial Lending Assistants for tracking.
- Verifying new commercial loans for accuracy pre- and post-closing, ensuring all necessary documents are signed and filed appropriately.
- Updating and managing monthly/quarterly loan policy exception reports, including monitoring existing exceptions for potential removal.
- Preparing forms for loan maturity and renewal, including Customer Due Diligence and Beneficial Ownership documentation.
- Generating EDR reports, credit assessments, flood determinations, appraisals/in-house evaluations, property searches, and HMDA reports as necessary.
- Assisting with commercial loan worksheets and collateral charts for new loan requests that do not require extensive analysis, and managing annual reviews for commercial loan officers on relationships valued between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
- Verifying current insurance documents and contacting agents as needed.
- Facilitating loan closings with clients in the absence of the Loan Officer (may require travel).
- Assisting clients with inquiries related to accounts (loans & deposits), setting up automatic payments, and/or initiating requests for business deposit accounts.
- Understanding and supporting all BSA/AML responsibilities relevant to the position, consistently and accurately executing these duties in compliance with the Bank's internal policies.
- Acting as a secondary contact for clients when the commercial loan officer is unavailable.
No supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate before groups of customers or employees. Ability to present information effectively to management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, bonuses, etc., using a calculator.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong organizational and decision-making skills are also required.
