Position Overview

The Radiologic Special Procedures Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by executing specialized imaging techniques under the guidance of a radiologist or physician. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and patient interaction to ensure high-quality diagnostic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialized Imaging: Conducts advanced radiographic procedures while adhering to established protocols and verifying physician orders.
  • General Diagnostics: Performs routine diagnostic imaging as necessary to support patient care.
  • Patient Education: Informs patients and their families about the procedures and treatments to be undertaken, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Image Quality: Produces and presents high-quality images along with relevant patient information for prompt interpretation by medical professionals.
  • Documentation: Maintains accurate records and documentation related to imaging procedures and patient interactions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conducts quality control checks on imaging equipment and troubleshoots any issues, notifying the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Upholds a safe environment for patients and staff, strictly following radiation safety protocols.
  • Workflow Management: Ensures the efficient operation of departmental workflows and maintains adequate inventory levels of necessary supplies.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other related responsibilities as directed by supervisory staff.
Qualifications
  • Certification: AHA BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • Licensure: Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is necessary.
Additional Information
  • Adherence to health system-wide profile standards is expected.
  • References are not required for application.
  • Completion of a skills checklist within one year of application for RN specialties is required; this is preferred but not mandatory for other professions.
  • Physical copies of certifications should be included in the profile if applicable.
  • Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment.
