Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Community Unit School District No. 308. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing therapy services to students with special education needs in the areas of language, speech, voice, fluency, and feeding/swallowing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat a variety of communication disorders, including articulations, phonology, receptive language, expressive language, fluency, voice, feeding/swallowing, and other related areas.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to support student progress and growth.
  • Collaborate with staff to achieve student IEP goals and provide best practice therapy techniques to assist students in achieving their goals.
  • Maintain accurate data to support student progress and growth.
  • Educate teachers, staff, and parents regarding the role of the Speech Language Pathologist and provide support to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Follow and implement district policies and procedures, as well as adhere to ethical standards and codes of the profession.
Requirements
  • A valid Illinois Professional Education License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech Language Pathology.
  • ASHA CCC's highly recommended.
  • A valid license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) in the area of Speech Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding special education and speech language pathology, including procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with special education needs.
  • Knowledge of district policies and procedures.
