Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team at UMMS Providers/Physicians. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive patient care to women under the direction of a supervising physician, managing the complex care of patients throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients, including admission, monitoring, and discharge planning.
  • Manage patient progress and report on patient outcomes to the supervising physician.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Conduct routine check-ups, perform ultrasounds, and provide education to patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartal care.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current Maryland Certified Nurse Midwife Licensure.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Maryland CDS license.
  • Maryland State DEA license.
  • NCC EFM Certification within 3 months of hire.
  • 2-4 years of midwifery experience.
  • Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections.
  • Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound.

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proven analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
  • Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice.
