About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance and Trailer Repair Technician to join our team at Metal Exchange. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our production equipment, facilities, and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair or replace faulty hydraulic or pneumatic components, mechanical components, and electrical components.
  • Mobile Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose and repair all mobile equipment, including gas, diesel, and propane-powered vehicles.
  • Trailer Repair and Maintenance: Inspect, test, and repair over-the-road RW trailers and related equipment systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including balers, sorting tables, air compressors, and mobile equipment.
  • Equipment Installation and Modification: Install and modify equipment to improve reliability, simplify operation, and enhance operational safety.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree or Industrial Maintenance Certification from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience; minimum of 2+ years of experience with engine maintenance.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and calculate proportions and percentages. Ability to apply common sense understanding and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
Work Environment

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
