Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for escorting patients to exam rooms, gathering information through patient interviews, and accurately recording vital signs. You will also assist medical providers in the exam room, provide clear instructions to patients, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and gather information through patient interviews
  • Accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
  • Assist medical providers in the exam room and provide clear instructions to patients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Perform waived testing, including Hemoglobin A1c, Urinalysis, Cholesterol, pregnancy testing, etc
  • Perform EKG's, phlebotomy duties, injections, and collect urine samples as needed
  • Document patient information thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following company policy and procedures
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certificate required
  • Some Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Maintains client confidentiality at all times
  • Is respectful and courteous to all patients and co-workers
  • Computer experience required, Microsoft Office preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to document in and navigate the EHR
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
