We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health Charlotte. As an essential member of our operating room staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality patient care during surgical procedures.
Job DescriptionThis is a part-time (0.5FTE) opportunity working various shifts including days and evenings with the possibility of rotating shifts and overtime as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an operating room environment and be familiar with surgical procedures and equipment. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Preparation of patients for surgery, including preparation of the operative site and assembly of necessary supplies and equipment
- Assist registered nurses in maintaining a sterile field and monitoring supplies for sterility
- Document sterilization activities for completion and participate in Performance Improvement Process
- Attend in-services/staff meetings and stay up-to-date on current department-related issues
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop policies, procedures, and standards
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or successful completion of military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist
