Medical Professional for Labor and Delivery

Job Overview- This position involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working in Labor and Delivery and be proficient in managing routine and high-risk pregnancies.
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery is responsible for monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, assisting with deliveries, and collaborating with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment: Assess and monitor the health of pregnant women, gather health histories, vital signs, and physical assessments, perform non-stress tests (NSTs), and evaluate uterine activity for signs of labor progression.
- Labor Support and Monitoring: Monitor labor progress through regular assessment of contraction patterns, cervical dilation, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs, administer medications as prescribed, and provide emotional support and pain management throughout labor.
- Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, participate in cesarean section procedures, and perform neonatal resuscitation and initial assessment of the newborn's health immediately after birth.
- Postpartum Care: Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and the newborn in the immediate postpartum period, assist with breastfeeding support, and provide education on postpartum recovery, self-care, and newborn care.
This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate and timely records of labor and delivery processes.
