Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL driver to join our team at Island Mechanical Group. As a CDL driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to and from specified locations within a designated geographic area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment
  • Ability to move and drive tractor trailers or truck and trailer combinations
  • Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights, and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness
  • Follow and maintain loading protocols
  • Inspect trailers before and after loading
  • Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
  • Always adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
Requirements
  • Class A CDL License
  • Two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no safety incidents on record
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs
  • Experience working in construction is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
  • Must be able to see to visually inspect machines and verbally communicate
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds
Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $25.00 - $37.00 per hour, depending on experience levels. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401K.
