Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at North American Staffing Group. Our client, a reputable non-profit health agency, is looking for a dedicated professional to provide exceptional care to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine patients, take medical history, and record results to make a preliminary diagnosis or decision on follow-up procedures.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests when necessary and interpret test results.
  • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with the medical director concerning appropriate treatment.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
  • Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Provide in-house psychiatric specialty consultations and services for patients.
  • Follow-up patients as needed to ensure compliance with protocol/treatment guidelines.
  • Prescreen cases requiring review by the Psychiatric Medical Director.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of patient records.
  • Participate in meetings as needed.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients according to department and contract guidelines.
  • Maintain all required documentation for the performance of treatment services.
  • Accept responsibility for his/her own professional development and engage in continuing education to maintain and enhance medical skills, knowledge, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • CA RN licensed MSN with current CA Furnishing Number.
  • Training as Psychiatric NP.
  • Preferably 2 years' experience post licensure.
  • ANCC/California Nurse Practitioner Certification and DEA registration preferred.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
