Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classify capital and operational expenditures for projects in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure timely placement of assets into service, particularly for large and intricate projects.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with project managers to review the status of assets under construction and determine placement timelines.
  • Execute closing procedures for project accounting and fixed asset management.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheets.
  • Analyze monthly variances, including capitalized labor.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships to promptly identify accounting issues.
  • Compile monthly roll forwards for cash flow statements.
  • Engage in special projects or tasks as needed within the finance division.
  • Drive process enhancements and special initiatives within the organization.
  • Conduct closing activities for Projects and Fixed Assets.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with assigned SOX controls.
  • Support external audit requirements as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in complex technical accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP, with the ability to research technical issues (experience with leasing is advantageous).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to present recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement.
  • High level of accuracy and efficiency, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • At least 2 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 experience is a plus).
  • CPA certification is preferred.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and based on the candidate's unique qualifications, skills, and geographic location, with potential earnings between $74,000 and $122,000 annually.
