Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in health and safety to lead our facility's health and safety programs and initiatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies, managing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business results.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate the development and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives to support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize health and safety department activities that align with business goals and objectives.
• Monitor leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and communicate with leadership to proactively address gaps.
• Manage resources, including personnel and expenses, to ensure effective allocation and prioritization of health and safety activities.
• Act as Workers' Compensation Site Administrator and provide leadership and development to health and safety staff to create an enriching work environment.
• Represent Lubrizol on community outreach activities as appropriate.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Three or more years of progressively increasing responsibility in a chemical plant or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Workers' Compensation, and DOT.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
• Emergency response experience (EMT certification)
