Key Responsibilities- Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety rules and procedures, focusing on the safety of self and others.
- Support and participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Sort and store materials in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves; convey orders to packing stations or shipping departments.
- Personalize work to produce quality results, focusing on inventory accuracy of own material movements.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Learn process areas according to training plans and adapt to change assignments.
- Accept and adhere to process changes, making improvement ideas to help the department.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequences for assembly by other workers.
- Use computers to enter records.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Contribute to teams to meet production goals.
- Work constructively with fellow team members in diverse environments.
- Drive vehicles to transport stored items from warehouses to plants or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Safely expedite the transport of hazardous materials and waste, adhering to strict regulation requirements.
- Inspect, weigh, load, document, transport hazardous materials and waste through shipping and receiving documents, bills of lading, and manifests.
- Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport, etc. of hazardous materials and waste.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Intermediate computer skills and intermediate skill with Microsoft programs.
