Department Overview

The Electric Asset & Regulatory department is dedicated to maintaining the quality of the electric system, engineering, and planning, alongside asset quality strategy and risk management across various asset families, including transmission, distribution, and substations. This centralized approach enables effective management of electric risks, asset health, interconnections, and performance by adhering to consistent standards and methodologies, while utilizing insights from inspections and asset data to guide asset management decisions.

Position Summary

The role of the Expert Business System Specialist is pivotal in ensuring that departmental initiatives and programs achieve their goals within the designated timelines and budgets by enhancing employee engagement and utilization. Key responsibilities include overseeing public safety and compliance initiatives under the Quality Management Training & Project (QMTP), focusing on Risk Management, Governance, Quality Planning, and the Quality Management System (QMS). This position will leverage PG&E's Lean Playbook, change management processes, quality engineering principles, and ISO standards to effectively manage the human aspect of change, leading the Change Management Program across the organization.

This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing for remote work as well as on-site collaboration based on business requirements.

Compensation

PG&E is committed to providing a competitive salary range for this position, which reflects the local market conditions. The actual salary will be determined based on various factors including skills, education, certifications, experience, and internal equity. The estimated salary range is as follows:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000

Bay Area Midpoint: $153,000

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive change management policies and procedural documentation, including frameworks, playbooks, and templates.
  • Formulate and implement change management strategies and plans to ensure seamless adaptation and risk mitigation for all stakeholders involved.
  • Oversee all facets of change management, including facilitating meetings, conducting assessments, and planning for risk mitigation.
  • Manage change management operations, including project reporting, maintaining a repository of lessons learned, and preparing communications.
  • Act as a liaison among stakeholders, collaborating with Business Process Leads, Product Owners, and Project Managers.
  • Provide reports on change management KPIs and metrics as required.
  • Support QMTP business processes as necessary.
  • Contribute to the definition, review, and approval of business requirements for solutions.
  • Analyze and document complex business requirements for projects.
  • Evaluate end-to-end business processes in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Proactively address concerns and questions with timely and professional communication.
  • Assist in the development of business cases.
  • Identify and propose solutions to complex quality challenges.
  • Lead the deployment of Advanced Parts Quality Planning (APQP) for effective quality planning and project management.
  • Utilize various quality tools and SPC methodologies to analyze complex issues and implement solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in change management, particularly in leading and delivering change initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk management and mitigation planning.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant job experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in PMP and/or Change Management.
  • Experience in quality management systems within the utility industry.
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001/ISO 55001.
  • Experience with enterprise-level Lean deployment.
  • Background in Operational Quality Management, Engineering, and Data Science.
  • Experience in Lean deployment and Quality Management System implementation.
  • Experience in fast-paced operational environments or business process improvement.
  • Certification in Change Management.
  • Ability to foster buy-in and collaboration for change management initiatives among stakeholders.
  • Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
