Medical Assistant I Certified

The Medical Assistant I, Certified provides essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and teams in an outpatient clinic setting. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a Medical Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively with patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming and intake processes, collecting patient data, and assisting providers during treatments and examinations.
- Collect and process patient specimens, administer medications, and perform tests under the direction of a provider.
- Review patient records to determine necessary health screenings and ensure exam rooms are prepared with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Provide patient education and instructions, and assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
- Participate in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA required.
- Basic Life Support Certification from AHA or ARC required.
- Prior medical assistant or externship experience preferred.
