Key Responsibilities:
The Veterinary Emergency Care Technician will be responsible for:

  • Conducting emergency patient assessments and providing care
  • Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placements
  • Acquiring radiographic images
  • Executing in-house diagnostic tests
  • Administering IV fluid therapy
  • Assisting in surgical procedures and providing post-operative care
  • Educating clients and facilitating effective communication
  • Ensuring safe and low-stress restraint of pets
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the clinic

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician; certification is preferred
  • Adherence to attendance policies
  • Ability to manage allergies to animals with medication
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to walk, bend, stand, and reach throughout a typical 8-hour shift
  • Visual acuity for accurate record-keeping and recognition of individuals
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and auditory
  • Fine motor skills necessary for nursing tasks such as phlebotomy
