About Our Organization
Two Hands Four Paws is a distinguished, family-operated establishment dedicated to the care of special needs animals and their families since 1998. We offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rehabilitation aspect of veterinary care. Our advanced facility includes a 15,000-gallon heated pool, various water and land treadmills, private treatment areas, and a spacious gym. Our services range from massage and acupuncture to hydrotherapy, ultrasound, laser therapy, and more. Additionally, we operate a 501(c)(3) foundation to rescue and rehabilitate animals in distress.
Candidate Profile
While prior veterinary experience in a clinical or hospital environment is highly preferred, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience in dog daycare or boarding settings.
We are looking for an Animal Rehabilitation Assistant who possesses the following:
- Experience in pet care tasks such as feeding, bathing, nail trimming, and administering medications
- Skills in animal handling and basic restraint techniques
- Exceptional patient care, customer service, and multitasking abilities
- Capability to prioritize tasks from various sources
- Strong English communication skills, a positive attitude, and a collaborative spirit
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to assisting special needs patients
Daily Responsibilities
Shifts are 8 hours long, with morning shifts commencing at 6:00 am and evening shifts concluding at 9:00 pm. Weekend availability may be necessary.
As an Animal Rehabilitation Assistant, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing the well-being of animals. Each day is filled with meaningful interactions with our furry patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include caring for special needs pets of various sizes, which involves feeding, bathing, administering medications, and maintaining cleanliness in the clinic. You will also assist with patient documentation, support the veterinary team during acupuncture and physical therapy sessions, and help transport disabled patients as required. This role offers a rewarding experience where you can expand your knowledge and skills in animal care.
Are you ready to embark on a journey of caring for extraordinary special needs pets as an Animal Rehabilitation Assistant? We look forward to welcoming you to our compassionate veterinary team.
