Role Summary:

  • The Ambulatory Nurse II is a registered nurse who actively engages as a key member of the healthcare team, consistently ensuring safe practices within the professional framework.
  • This role requires a comprehensive understanding of nursing standards as outlined in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum.
  • The nurse embodies the organizational competencies that reflect our mission and are integrated into professional practice.
  • Independently, the Ambulatory Nurse II provides patient care through the nursing process and is accountable for the care of assigned patients, spanning all age groups.
  • This position emphasizes competencies in Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice, Leadership, Person and Family-Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork.
  • The nurse collaborates closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure coordinated care across the continuum, focusing on individualized care that considers the physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-related needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Evaluate and integrate the best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences for optimal healthcare delivery.
  • Safety: Minimize risks to patients, families, providers, and self through effective systems and individual performance.
  • Professionalism: Commit to the nursing profession through continuous learning, adherence to ethical standards, and community engagement.
  • Person and Family-Centered Care: Recognize patients as partners in care, respecting their preferences and values.
  • Leadership: Collaborate effectively and apply innovative thinking to drive evidence-based problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Informatics/Technology: Utilize appropriate technologies to enhance communication, knowledge management, and decision-making.
  • Teamwork: Engage in cooperative efforts to ensure safe, quality outcomes for patients within diverse teams.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Use data and quality improvement methods to identify and address care delivery challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 months of RN experience (Required)
  • Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Required)
  • ACLS, BCLS, or PALS certification (Required)
