Director, Site Reliability Engineering Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to lead our Virtual Networking portfolio in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction and roadmap for our services, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Strategy and Roadmap: Partner with product management to define the service strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Leadership and Representation: Represent the organization at the VP level, influencing decision-making and driving business outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Use your expertise to operate large-scale software fleets, ensuring services meet OCI's scale and performance requirements.
  • Collaboration and Team Management: Collaborate with your team, peers, and senior leadership to identify product and customer requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions to meet business needs.
  • Team Development: Recruit and build out a capable and cohesive engineering team who can deliver complex projects on time.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 6+ years of managing large-scale organizations, preferably with multiple layers of management.
  • Technical Expertise: 10+ years of designing, delivering, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
  • Mentorship and Growth: Demonstrable success mentoring and growing engineers and people managers to senior levels.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of networking, distributed systems, and high-performance computing fundamentals.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of product development.
