PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and protocols to guarantee patient safety at all times.
2.) Assist the Technologist in preparing the examination room.
- Set up the appropriate coil for the examination.
- Ensure the availability of clean linens.
- Provide any necessary items to facilitate patient preparation.
3.) Support the patient interview process.
- Conduct safety checks.
- Gather symptoms and medical history.
- Ascertain if prior examinations exist.
- Confirm the patient is appropriately attired for the examination.
- Explain the procedure to the patient.
- Offer reassurance to anxious patients.
4.) Assist the technologist in positioning the patient for the examination.
- Aid the patient in getting onto the examination table.
- Ensure all safety devices are correctly positioned.
- Help make the patient comfortable.
5.) Assist the technologist after the examination is completed.
- Help the patient out of the bore.
- Remove all safety equipment.
6.) Assist the patient in dismounting from the table and guide them to the changing area.
7.) Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
8.) Assist in retrieving all necessary prior paperwork.
9.) Aid in obtaining all relevant previous examinations.
10.) Verify that prior examinations are accessible on the designated workstation.
11.) Support the technologist with data entry tasks.
12.) Assist in cleaning and restocking examination rooms.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. CPR certification is mandatory.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to assist patients with mobility challenges is necessary. Must be capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
Frequent interactions with various customer groups, including patients, families, referring communities, and Shields Health Care employees.
