Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Teradyne. As a key member of our mechanical design group, you will be responsible for the design, documentation, and release of cables, ITA's, and custom test fixtures.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including cables, ITA's, and custom test fixtures, for our Mil/Aerospace Division.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing, Project Managers, and Systems Engineering, to understand customer needs and implement design solutions.
  • Lead and collaborate with development teams to provide technical guidance, trade-off analysis, project scheduling, and change management.
  • Effectively interact with customers to solve problems and build collaborative relationships.
  • Support new products as well as maintain legacy products.
Requirements:
  • SOLIDWORKS 2018 or higher and PDM (product data management) experience.
  • Detailed understanding of metal fabrication, machining, and various fastening methods.
  • Ability to generate mechanical design and documentation of components and assemblies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Visio, Word, and Excel.
  • Fluency in IPC/WHMA-A-620: Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Initiative, motivation, and drive to bring highly integrated and complex products to market.
  • Disciplined and methodical engineering rigor and careful attention to detail.
  • Leadership and communication skills for effective influence with customers, internal teammates, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in fundamentals of machine design, including thermal analysis, tolerances, precision alignment, and mechanical properties of materials.
  • Competency in material selection, manufacturing processes, and mechanical fabrication methods.
