Job Overview

Position Title: Warehouse Order Selector

Position Summary: The individual in this role will be tasked with the responsibilities of selecting, packaging, and organizing items that have been received. The items may vary significantly, from large metal or PVC pipes handled with a fork-lift to numerous small components such as fasteners or endcaps, depending on the stage of the construction project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize RF scanning equipment to identify and locate inventory.
  • Accurately select, package, and retrieve the appropriate item types and quantities.
  • Operate pallet jacks, fork-lifts, and push carts as necessary based on the type of inventory.
  • Prioritize and organize the staging area effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work environment, which may include sweeping and mopping.
  • Use computers at the will-call booth to assist with order processing.
  • Provide assistance to customers, both internal and external, regarding item inquiries, availability, and order placements.
Required Skills:Hard Skills:
  • Experience in order selection.
  • Proficient in forklift operation.
  • Familiarity with RF scanning technology.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong counting and inventory management skills.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
Job Type:

This is a Contract-to-Hire position.

Work Environment:

This role is conducted entirely on-site. The work environment is indoor/outdoor, subject to varying weather conditions, which can include extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large warehouse setting filled with plumbing supplies, ranging from 10-15 ft pipes to small bolts and fasteners.
