Job Summary

This role is responsible for working independently to prepare, package, display, and stock meat products, ensuring the financial best interest of the store is met. Additionally, this role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, as well as complying with company guidelines for safety and food safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meat Product Preparation: Prepare and produce meat products to production planner specifications.
  • Meat Product Packaging: Package and label meat products per program plan.
  • Meat Product Merchandising: Merchandise meat products per flight plan/merchandising expectations.
  • Meat Product Stocking: Stock backroom with meat products - rotating and dating cases/buckets.
  • Inventory Management: Notify the meat manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth in our Family Fare retail stores.
  • Basic Math Skills: Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and division.
  • Communication: Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
  • Safety and Food Safety: Follow all PPE and safety guidelines, as well as food safety and cleaning expectations.
  • Guest Experience: Follow guest experience guidelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
