We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill three vacancies for Recreation Programmers. By joining our team, you will play a vital role in the development, creation, and supervision of exceptional programs for our fantastic community.
The ideal candidate will be able to generate innovative ideas, particularly to the implementation of mobile recreation. In addition to having demonstrated proficiency in program development and promoting community engagement, the ideal candidate should also possess a deep understanding of the needs for programs and camps for all ages.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and manage diverse recreational programs tailored to the needs of our community, including youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
- Actively engage with community members to assess their needs and interests, ensuring the programs are inclusive and accessible, especially for underserved and hard-to-reach populations.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of special events; including creation, marketing, logistics, budgeting, permitting, staffing, etc.
- Develop and implement marketing strategy to ensure high levels of participants in all recreation programs.
- Supervision of part-time Instructor and/or Camp staff, to include: interviewing, onboarding, discipline, and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for all.
Work schedule varies following operational hours and may include weekday, evening, and weekend hours.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or equivalent and Two years of applicable work experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, One year of supervisory experience in a related field, and One year of experience managing large-scale events and conducting outreach activities in a community setting.
Criminal background, credit, CPS, and DMV checks are required. You must have a valid driver's license and a favorable driving record. Continued qualification requires an annual review of driving records.
Fingerprints and TB tests must be conducted within 30 days of employment. First Aid/CPR certification is required to be obtained within four months of being hired or at the time of hiring.
