DaVita is in search of a Registered Nurse eager to provide essential care to patients in an Acute Hospital environment. In this role, RNs will work independently alongside hospital personnel to evaluate, address, and make informed decisions for critically ill patients.

If you haven't explored Nephrology nursing yet, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Previous dialysis experience is not a prerequisite.

What You Can Anticipate:

  • Utilize your critical care expertise. Our RNs are skilled in educating patients and their families, applying their nursing knowledge to manage patients with various co-morbidities and acute conditions that necessitate tailored treatment plans.
  • Beyond hemodialysis. Acute RNs may provide nephrology care across a range of renal therapies, including peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis.
  • Independence in a hospital setting. Deliver dialysis to patients within a specific hospital or network of hospitals, becoming a vital member of both the hospital team and our organization. In this acute care role, you will often work autonomously, assessing and addressing the needs of critical patients daily.
  • Diverse work environment. Each day presents new challenges for an acute dialysis nurse, as you will engage in various settings such as ICU, CCU, ER, and more, continually expanding your nursing skills alongside dialysis care.
  • Work Schedule: Provide urgent, life-saving care during on-call shifts. While your weekly schedule will be known in advance, daily assignments may vary based on patient requirements. A commutable distance is necessary for on-call duties.

Additional Position Details:

  • Training may occur in a facility or training clinic with a cohort of new colleagues.
  • Work hours may fluctuate during the training phase, typically ranging from 32-40 hours per week.
  • A flexible schedule is essential, with the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime due to the nature of acute treatments.
  • Capability to work extended hours with little notice.
  • Ability to travel to multiple hospitals within a designated area.
  • Experience in assessing, troubleshooting, and making sound recommendations in high-pressure situations.
  • Physical capability to maneuver large hemodialysis machines with minimal assistance.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited institution; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) or a three-year diploma from an accredited program may be considered.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Word and Outlook.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hemodialysis nursing within acute or chronic care settings.
  • Background in Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and/or Emergency Room (ER).
  • Certification as a Nephrology Nurse (CNN), Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN), and/or Certified Hemodialysis Nurse (CHN).
