Position Title: Production Assembly Technician

Compensation: $18.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.

Shift: 1st Shift

Position Summary:

The Production Assembly Technician is tasked with executing assembly operations within specified timeframes while maintaining quality standards. This position requires the use of various tools, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and ensuring the safe and efficient use of machinery in a manufacturing setting. The technician is also responsible for keeping their workspace clean and organized and may assist with additional duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly Execution: Complete assigned assembly tasks within the designated time limits, ensuring all work adheres to established quality benchmarks.
  • Reference Materials: Utilize manuals, drawings, lists, and charts to confirm accuracy throughout the assembly process.
  • Tool Operation: Safely and effectively operate power tools and assist crane operators as needed.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, follow all safety protocols, and report any hazardous conditions immediately.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of both power and hand tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Exhibits a strong focus on detail in all tasks performed.
  • Coordination and Vision: Excellent hand-eye coordination with good eyesight, depth perception, and color differentiation.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Capable of reading and understanding technical documents, including assembly prints and shop orders.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Able to interpret assembly drawings and make basic mechanical adjustments as necessary.
  • Measurement Precision: Competent in maintaining measurements to specific tolerances using tools like tape measures and calipers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ability to identify and consistently achieve expected quality standards.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong understanding of fractions and decimals.
Education & Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Certifications and Training:
    • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Training
    • Global Harmonization System (GHS) Training
    • Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) Training
    • Tow Motor and Overhead Crane Certification
    • Note: Onsite training is available for all certifications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Physical Activity: Frequent squatting, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Lifting: Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting.
