Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our anesthesiologists and surgeons during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform duties such as IV insertion, assistance with nerve blocks, and creation of line kits.
  • Equipment maintenance and servicing, including cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating, and testing, troubleshooting, requisitioning, and recording of inspections and maintenance.
  • Operate a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment used to monitor, evaluate, and manage the patient undergoing anesthesia.
  • Prepare anesthesia IV fluids, insert IVs, and set up arterial lines and invasive monitoring.
  • Assist the anesthesiologist with peripheral nerve blocks and emergencies.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Certified Anesthesia Technologist credentialed from the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians/Technologists (ASATT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
