About This Role: The schedule will be Friday through Monday from 8 AM to 6 PM. The Culinary Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a diverse range of food items according to assigned work instructions, menus, and guidelines while adhering to food safety and handling protocols.

This role requires demonstrated experience and knowledge in the preparation of both hot and cold food items, as well as proficiency in standardized knife skills.

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure, employing quick problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Refer to the Daily Prep List at the beginning of each shift for assigned tasks and complete opening and closing checklists daily.
  • Prepare workstation with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Safely utilize a variety of kitchen utensils, including knives and other tools.
  • Comfortably operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
  • Consistently adhere to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies.
  • Properly handle, store, label, and rotate all products in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Follow instructions to maintain adequate levels of food products at line stations for smooth service.
  • Possess a clear understanding of menu items and be responsible for ingredient preparation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various cooking methods and equipment.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Adapt to hot and cold working conditions during food preparation.
  • Fulfill physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a minimum age of 18 years.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant culinary experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prior experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures typical in a food service environment.
