Position Overview

Forestville Healthcare Center, part of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a dedicated Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to provide essential nursing and personal care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in resident reports at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Deliver personal and nursing care in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Facilitate and engage residents in various activities.
  • Monitor and respond to resident needs with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all residents.
  • Assist residents in preparing for activities both inside and outside the facility.
  • Ensure that all care is delivered respectfully and compassionately.
  • Perform basic nursing procedures as required.
  • Document activities of daily living and maintain accurate resident records.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Attend training and educational programs to maintain certification and improve care quality.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess a current Maryland GNA Certification and have graduated from an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enroll in such a program, with the expectation to graduate and pass the state test within 120 days of employment.
