About Saint Alphonsus Medical Group: Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led and accountable multispecialty group comprised of over 450 providers. We are currently seeking a dedicated Interventional Cardiologist to join our esteemed 18-member cardiology practice in Boise, which includes 5 Interventional Cardiologists, 6 Invasive Cardiologists, 2 Heart Failure Cardiologists, 3 Electrophysiologists, and 2 Cardiothoracic Surgeons. Our team is further supported by a robust group of inpatient and outpatient Advanced Practice Providers.
Facilities and Technology: The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including 3 catheterization labs equipped for peripheral interventions, 2 electrophysiology labs, and a 22-bed prep and recovery unit for Cath/EP procedures. We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, including cardiac nuclear medicine, vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, and EKG diagnostics.
Procedures Performed: Our practice is involved in a variety of procedures such as diagnostic adult cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions, TAVR, mitral valve clipping, left atrial appendage occlusion devices, balloon angioplasty, stent placements, permanent pacemaker insertions, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator placements, multiple ablations, coronary thrombectomy, transesophageal echocardiography, and peripheral vascular interventions.
Support Services: We collaborate closely with specialists in Cardiac MRI and CT Angiography, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Neurosurgery, and a large team of Hospitalists and Intensivists. SAMG operates a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, along with successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program. Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology is required, or candidates must obtain these certifications within three years of employment. An unrestricted full medical license in Idaho and Oregon is necessary, along with the ability to secure appropriate hospital medical staff privileges.
Additional Skills: While nuclear cardiology skills are welcome, they are not mandatory. Echo board certification is also not a requirement. Opportunities for interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease are available.
