Medical Laboratory Technician I

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine laboratory tests.
- Perform specialized laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
- Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
- Communicate technical information to medical and lay persons.
- Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures and participate in continuing education.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
- 0-1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking.
- Ability to climb stairs and work in confined/cramped spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
