Job Summary

The Residential Waste Collector will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting solid waste and recyclables from customers. The driver will operate a rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load truck along designated routes to collect waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a designated route to collect waste and recyclables from customers
  • Operate mechanical packer to load and compact trash from hopper into the truck body
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete vehicle condition reports
  • Courteously interact with customers and respond to requests
  • Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired
  • Possess valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance requirements for safe operation
  • Ability to control operations of equipment and maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Working Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, and extreme weather conditions
  • Work in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time
  • Occasionally work in high precarious places
