Environmental Operations Specialist

About the Job:

Waste Connections is currently hiring an Environmental Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our landfill facilities.

About the Role:

• Check Trucks and Direct Traffic: You will be responsible for checking trucks in and out of the landfill, directing traffic as necessary to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Manual Labor and Maintenance: Your duties will include performing manual labor such as paper picking, keeping the landfill clean and presentable, and performing general office maintenance and repairs.
• Yard Work and Temporary Wind Fences: You will be responsible for performing yard work, including cutting weeds, and installing temporary wind fences as required.
• Miscellaneous Duties: In addition to these responsibilities, you may be assigned other job-related tasks to support the overall operations of the landfill.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in manual labor, with a focus on environmental operations. You should also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

• Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year
