We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care and improving the health of our community. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area to ensure efficient and accurate specimen handling.
  • Transport lab supplies, equipment, and specimens in a timely and organized manner.
  • Handle and process laboratory specimens in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to patients and colleagues, utilizing AIDET and attending CARES training.
  • Collaborate with Pathology and NMHS employees to achieve departmental goals.
  • Assist with reporting and recordkeeping for department testing and Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the training of students and new employees to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and maintain required certifications to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

Education:

A degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field is required.

A valid Mississippi driver's license and an acceptable driving record are necessary.

Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Knowledge of biohazardous specimen handling is a must.
