Job Overview: The MBTA is seeking a qualified Tramway Maintenance Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the rail vehicle maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems on tramway vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement new maintenance procedures and policies.
  • Inspect and test electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in tramway systems, using a range of diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair history and system performance data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in tramway maintenance, repair, or overhaul.
  • Knowledge of electronic, electrical, and mechanical principles and their application to tramway systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to non-technical staff.
